Where: Potomac River, arriving into Alexandria City Marina / Washington DC waters from Maryland.

Call to All Mariners & Boat Enthusiasts!
The Pride of Baltimore II, Maryland’s iconic sailing ambassador, is kicking off her 2026 America250 sailing season, and she needs a proper Potomac welcome!

We are assembling a community flotilla to escort this breathtaking 1812-style clipper schooner as she makes her grand entrance into Washington DC waters from Maryland. Whether you have a sailboat or powerboat, we invite you to be part of the on-the-water festivities.

Why Join?

Show Your Pride: Represent SCOW and the region by welcoming this historic vessel.
Experience the Grandeur: Get an up-close view of the Pride from the water.
Be Part of History: Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

How to Register for the Flotilla:
To ensure a safe and organized arrival, please register your vessel or as crew to receive specific coordinates, arrival times, and safety protocols for the escort.

Note: The Pride of Baltimore II will be docking at Alexandria City Marina for public tours immediately following arrival. Let’s make this arrival unforgettable!

Tunesday Floating Concert Series on Calypso (05 May 2026)

Join SCOW for an evening on Back Creek as we motor Calypso and paddle kayaks to the Tunesday floating concert. Chronic Sailing hosts this free summer concert series, with artists performing atop a large catamaran until sunset. We’ll raft up and enjoy the music.

Seats on Calypso are now sold out! But, you're still warmly invited to join the fleet as a paddler. BYO kayak or paddleboard, or rent one from Capital SUP Eastport.

Where? The concert plays on Back Creek directly across from the Capital SUP/kayak rental location at Nautilus Point. Park at Nautilus Point. Parking restrictions are not enforced currently.

When? Tuesday, May 5

Sailors, meet us at Calypso on Dock F at 5:00 pm.
Paddlers, meet at 6:00 pm at the kayak launch area for Capital SUP. Map below. Arriving later? No problem. You’ll see us on the water.

Sailing to the Nats vs. O's Game!

Ahoy, SCOW Members and Nats/O's Fans!

Get ready to skip the traffic and hit the water! We are organizing a club sail from the Washington Sailing Marina to Nationals Park to watch our Washington Nationals take on the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday, May 17th.

There is no better way to arrive at the Navy Yard than by boat. We’ll enjoy a scenic cruise up the Potomac, past the Alexandria waterfront, and into the Anacostia River, docking just steps from the stadium.

Event Timeline:

Meet & Prep: 10:30 AM at Washington Sailing Marina

Cast Off: 11:00 AM (Sharp!) to ensure we have plenty of time for the ~4-5 mile sail and docking.

First Pitch: 1:35 PM EDT
