Social SailDuring Spring, Summer, and Fall, SCOW meets on Thursday evenings for Social Sails at Washington Sailing Marina from 6:00 PM to sundown. Social Sails involve Flying Scot and cruisers around the "lagoon" south of the airport accompanied by on-shore socializing. SCOW provides food and drink alternating between catered and potluck every other week for these events. Potential members [five years of age and older] and guests are welcome to attend. Please check the SCOW calendar for exact dates. | Potomac River ActivitiesEach month there are SCOW events, usually on the weekends, that include sailing on the Potomac River. These include boat raft ups, picnics, and more. Monthly Membership MeetingWe hold several general membership meetings every year when most of us aren’t on the water. A short business meeting with Officer/Director reports begins at 7:00 p.m., followed by a program of interest to the membership, like a speaker on a sailing related topic. For specific dates and locations, please check the calendar on our Home Page and stay tuned for emailed announcements. These meetings are an ideal way for new and potential members to get familiar with the various activities offered by SCOW. Our meetings are a great way to connect with new friends, crew and skippers and share your suggestions for improving our Club. Not yet a member? | Sailboat RacingEvery Wednesday evening starting April through September, members meet at the Washington Sailing Marina at 4:30 pm for informal races. Members race the club's Flying Scots and some members race their own Scots, lasers or whatever. No racing experience is needed and all members are welcome to join in. Come on down and crew!
