Lets celebrate in Alexandria this time. Join us for a sail to Alexandria where we will join the birthday party and watch the fireworks from land(5pm to 9:30 pm) . Or join us in Alexandria where we will party, then anchor out to watch the fireworks before we sail back to WSM (6pm to 11:00 pm) ,or both, if space allows.
Thank you to the generosity of C. Del Ninno and J. Leoncio, we can celebrate in Alexandria by water this year.
The City will celebrate its 277th and the USA’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Oronoco Bay Park (100 Madison St.).
6 p.m. - Introduction by Mistress of Ceremonies NBC4 Washington Reporter Molette Green, Opening Act music by Decades Band 7:30 p.m. - Town crier announces Mayor Alyia Gaskins; poetry reading by Alexandria Poet Laureate Cristi Donoso; acknowledgements 8 p.m. - Distribution of birthday cupcakes by members of City Council 8:30 p.m. - Performance by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra 9:30 p.m. - Grand finale fireworks display, Ceremonial cannons by the Presidential Salute Battery 9:45 p.m. – Closing remarks

If you have a vessel and want to come raftup with us, please register as a skipper.
As always, if the event is popular and we need more space, we will use the destination sail format. First group will sail to Alexandria and join the celebration on shore at Robinson Landing. Second group will meet for the celebration, then sail out for fireworks on the water, then deliver the boat back to WSM.
